This e-mail system has been set up so that group leaders may inform AMC members of upcoming or last minute trips, events or activities within their group. This opportunity to receive e-mails is strictly voluntary. You may subscribe or unsubscribe anytime you wish. You may subscribe to any list, several, or all of them if you wish. The moderators (who submit the e-mail notifications) of the e-mail lists will usually be the activity chair or subchair of that activity. If your activity does not have a notification list and you wish to set one up, contact the webmaster. Any group may have more than one moderator.
Guidelines
These will be official trips
organized by official leaders. All such trips will be approved by the
appropriate subchairs and run in accordance with the requirements of
trips otherwise published in the Gazette or on the website. Trips that normally would not be listed in the Gazette can also be announced to members by these e-mail notifications. An example would be when sudden snow conditions allow some local cross country skiing.
AMC
Activities Risk Statement.
The
activities listed here involve varying degrees of danger. When you
participate in one of these activities you should be both physically
and mentally prepared and equipped with the appropriate gear. You
should always be aware of the risks involved and conduct yourself
accordingly. The trip leader is not responsible for your safety: YOU
are! Prior to registering for any activity, you are encouraged to
discuss your capabilities with the trip leader. In order to
participate in these activities, individuals under 18 years old must
be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult, or obtain prior
consent from the trip leader. Those accompanied by a minor are
responsible for the minor's actions. Note: Participation in
activities now requires acknowledgment of this risk via signature on
this release
form. The activity leader will have this form for the
participants to sign at the start of an event.
